It has always been Dawns dream to have her own Accounting Firm, which she started in January of 2014. Prior to starting her own practice, she was a CPA with Gordon and Associates, LLC from October 2003 to December 2013, providing much of the same services she now performs in her own firm. From 1997 to 2003, Dawn was an Accountant at Ginger Cove, in charge of the Monthly Financial Reports, Payroll Processing and Residential Billing/Accounts Receivable. Dawn has also worked in the following industries and is knowledgeable in the various facets of their accounting needs – banking, construction, retail and food service.

Becoming a Licensed CPA

Dawn Penrod has been a licensed CPA in the state of Maryland since January 2004, although her love of accounting started long before then. Dawn graduated with a degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland University College in 2002. She also attended Anne Arundel Community College as part of her accounting degree. Earlier in life, Dawn had planned on being a computer programmer and studied Computer Information Technology at Pikes Peak Community College, but after her first accounting class she decided on a different career.

Dawn is also very active in her community. In addition to being involved with the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and her neighborhood Auxiliary, she participates in the various charity walks. She has been a walker in different cities for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk since 2008, in Annapolis for the National MS Society since 2012, and also in Annapolis for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition in most years since 2010. In her down time, she loves to travel with her husband and friends. She enjoys National Parks as well as remote islands.

Dawn is local to Anne Arundel County, but services all of Maryland and various other states.
